Septic & Septage Treatment
Most of urban India is dependent on onsite systems like septic tanks and pits for the disposal of septage. The number of such systems are going to increase as India is growing into a developed nations with a large population. However limited attention has been accorded to proper construction, operation and maintenance, and the management of septage generated. Lack of scientific knowledge on septage treatment, the disposal of waste into water bodies, it is dumped anywhere and everywhere, polluting water sources (both groundwater and surface-water), leading to severe health implications. This problem can be solved without opening the septic tank and disposing the septage into water bodies, with a reduced cost by using bacterial technology and preventing diseases, mosquitoes and foul smell from septic tanks.
